Join Elle and The Big Foody Team for a gourmet weekend away at Vineyard Cottages. The North West Auckland region is packed with historic vineyards, craft breweries, local producers, artisans and farmers. On our Culinary Explorer weekend we visit a local baker for a master class in sour dough, one of the areas best brewers for a tasting and tour of their brewery. We visit one of the largest organic vegetable gardens with Chef Des Harris and have a 6 course dinner cooked at the legendary Hunting Lodge. On Sunday we visit Whenuani Farm where Dianne and Richard Kidd will share their stories of producing prime NZ lamb and beef and why sustainable farming is at the forefront of what they do. Our weekend finishes with a classic Kiwi roast at Vineyard Cottages, celebrating the very best of the region!

9:00am Meet at Vineyard Cottages in Waimauku

9:30 leave Vineyard Cottages for Helensville

10:00am Dan at The Bread Project, introduction to sour dough

12:00pm Craft Beer tour and tasting at Liberty Project

1:00pm Garden Tour with Des Harris

2:00pm The best of the Kaipara Trust the Chef at The Hunting Lodge
